Desmume 64 bit. Pokemon HG

Recently downloaded a HG Rom which I know works as I've seen my mate playing it fully, downloaded 0.9.6 64bit version and loaded up the ROM, what I get is a black desmume but I get all the audio from the game.

My mate is running 64 bit too, i've used everything exactly the same as him but his works and mine doesn't... Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks

busted for not reading the faq at the very least
