Re: Desmume v7.0 - anyone got it working on kubuntu/ubuntu

I tried 0.7 and forced install because of libxml (I looked over it - the right version only exists for gutsy, but there is no chance for feisty to get this libxml version). Desmume worked but it was extremely slow! fuck!

I installed 0.6 from the repos and it worked damn well. But the glade files are missing, which sucks, since it is the better interface by now. It would be so great to use 0.7 without any slowdowns - it is really weird. I neither have Beryl nor Compiz working (since they won't work at the time because some nvidia bugs in geforce4 graphic cards).

Any chances to get a 0.7 working on feisty without any slowdowns and without modifying libxml? Would be awesome

Please remain polite.

You have an NVIDIA card, so for 0.7.0, you could start by trying to run desmume (gtk) or desmume-glade with "--gdk-gl-force-indirect".
You could also try the current version in CVS, in which shash improved 2D speed alot. Again, i recommend the "--gdk-gl-force-indirect" option.
