make sure the .sav file is there and has the same name as the rom (except for the .sav part of course)

the .sav file is there but the extension doesn't display on windows explorer (obvious) and it has the same name as the ROM

What version of DesMuMe are you using?

You know, you can tell explorer to show file extensions. And you should, unless you enjoy useful information being hidden from you. In fact, it is the first thing I do on a new windows install, even before I switch back to classic theme.
It looks like the last change to this code was before 0.9.5, and I thought that change was to add support for pal park.
Also make sure youre not setting it to leafgreen.zip

make sure you meet all the requirement otherwise the migrate option will not appear.
I think you need the National Dex(not just beating elite 4) before PAL Park is open and at least 6 pokemons in your active box without HM moves.
Make sure you are inside a pokemon center for both games etc.

I can do pokemon migration without problem.
If you point to the correct gba file and save in desmume then I can only suggest that you read the requirement again and make sure you have met the requirement.
It is not 6 pokemons in your party but at least 6 pokemons in your active box and you must be in the pokemon center for both games (I think).

I've just tried it again after reading this topic after previously getting it work in Platinum using 0.9.4 and then having trouble getting it to work in 0.9.5 with both Platinum and SoulSilver with it saying Failed to Save but now it works after i saved both games in the Pokemon Center.

what is the active box? Is it the box in which the pokemon are first stored? I have many pokemon (over 6) without HM moves in the box in ehich I normally use. {BOX 1}. Its the only box I use.

I am sorry but I did not mean to go off topic but I meet all the requirements for pal park and it seems the emulator does not detect the LG rom in the GBA slot as I do not seem to be encountering the pokemon that I should when LG is insterted. I am not even getting the "Migrate pokemon (from GBA)" option that I am supposed to get on the main menu.

There is one more requirement for the game to recognise the GBA and that is that both games need to be the same region so if you have North American Pearl you need a North American LeafGreen.
And for the boxes it doesn't matter which box you use as you are able to search through all of them for the pokemon "migrate".

If Desmume cannot find your GBA rom, (so it doesn't say "MIGRATE FROM EMERALD", ect), then the problem is with the GBA rom's save file (.sav). It is 64KB instead of 128KB as Desmume requires (right?). All you have to do is to open the GBA rom with Virtualboy Advance (VBA). After you opened it and it runs delete the save file, then click "Options" - "Emulator" - "Save Type" and check the "Flash 128K" instead of the "Flash 64K". Then save the game on the GBA rom, and then a new save file will be created and it will be 128KB. Your GBA rom will be able to work with Desmume now.

Even with all the requirements fulfilled, there are still some cases in which the migration will fail (and subsequently corrupt your FR/LG/RSE battery file). I've had Emerald > Platinum fail whilst migration to SoulSilver went without a hitch. All with the same battery file.
