Using Gamesaves

I've tried everything to have a gamesave work, which ended up making the Rom I was using unplayable.I was wondering if gamesaves are even compatible with DeSmuME at all or if there is a way to use them, correctly[Please include instructions,I'd be very grateful].The info about the Rom:
                                                                                                                                      Language:Japanese
                                                                                                                                      Name:Naruto Shinobi Restuden 3
Released in:Japan,Awaiting release in America etc.
Failed Methods for using Gamesave:Converted file type many times,Imported backup data,Loaded save
                                                                                                                                      data

It's the .sav file? Try the Import function. Also check out with SVN and try there also the Import feature.

Re: Using Gamesaves

Sometimes saves from other regions will work, sometimes they won't. Try.

Try importing the saves you downloaded in the emulator (find an option for that in the menus) before bothering with SVNs.

Re: Using Gamesaves

to understand what svn is, read the FAQ.

assuming the save you speak of is the one on Gamefaqs, it's a .duc file. dunno why it fails to import on desmume, but try to convert it with this site: http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php, then import the result .sav file.

Re: Using Gamesaves

Ok I'm getting so frustrated with this I'll tell you my exact method.
               1.Download gamesave from GameFAQs.
2.Convert gamesave from .duc[Source File:Action Replay Max] file to .sav[Target Format: Acekard RPG|EZ Flash V|RAW Format AutoDetection]and save it.
3.Open DeSmuME go to open ROM,Naruto Shinobi Restuden 3.
4.Let main menu load, then go to import backup data then select the converted gamesave.
               5.Reset the game.
And nothing happens.(number 4 & 5 I got from the FAQ)Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Re: Using Gamesaves

What you're doing wrong is picking and choosing steps from the faq instead of performing them all. For example, step 3

Re: Using Gamesaves

The duc conversion works well but please follow all the passages. And i mean ALL.

1)Download the .duc from Gamefaq.
2)You should check on Advanscene that this game uses Eeprom 64kbit savetype that is 8Kb.
3)http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php, "Savegame to convert" put the .duc file path, "Source format" choose Action Replay Max DS (.duc /.dss), "Target format" choose AceKard RPG / Raw Format (force 8kb). It will produce a .sav file.
4)Open desmume and LOAD first the game. When it's loaded File->Import Backup Memory, and choose the .sav.
5)Restart the game.

So simple. I've tested it and it works.
