Megaman Zx

This game no long works (The build I am using was created on 4 May)

The freeze point is here
freezepointjs9.th.gif

At this point DesmuME crashes completely.

I seem to remember that this game worked perfectly on March 17, 2007 Build by amponzi (apart from speed)
Can anyone tell me what has happened to cause the Emu to crash?

Ps I was using a windows build if that helps

Re: Megaman Zx

Set save type to 64k, and it'll work perfectly.

Re: Megaman Zx

Thanks shash it now works. I have also a couple of questions for you

1) How do you add save state to the project for Dev-C++?

2) What FPS do you get for this game with your WIP?

3) Megaman Zx nomal saves do not seem to saving if you close the emu then try to load the save ingame it finds nothing.
(This only happens with this game.)

Re: Megaman Zx

When I played Megaman ZX, sometimes saving or loading states caused the emulator to freeze, forcing me to kill it.

Also, sometimes save states were saved corrupted. After loading a corrupted state the game is frozen (sometimes the display is damaged), while the music plays fine. The emulator didn't lock up in this case.

I'm using a CVS build self-built on 2007-04-27. Getting around 49-52 FPS.

Re: Megaman Zx

01torres, to add save state support you need zlib.
heftig its running really fast for you, i get around 20~22fps here.

Re: Megaman Zx

snkmad: I have already got Zlib and it does not seem to be working for me (I have Zlib in the same folder next to Emu). Could you give me a link to see if it's just my copy that's bad.

Heiftig: I only get 20fps same as snkmad so you computer must very good to get them speeds.

Re: Megaman Zx

01torres, you need zlib setup on the compiler parameters: -DHAVE_LIBZ
And also need to point the file in the linker: C:/Dev-Cpp/bin/zlib1.dll
Take a look on the other thread, i posted some screens.
EDIT:Well this is getting really Off-topic, please post your compilig doubts here: http://forums.desmume.org/viewtopic.php?id=14

I get about 50% fps increase over lastest released WIP, atleast for the first 2 minutes stuff (intro, menus, etc).

Are you sure you reached at least the first save point?

Re: Megaman Zx

i also have that problem with loading saves. i can't get saves to load regardless of what type i choose and savestates aren't working either... i am using windows xp(x64) sp2. i don't know if that's related to the problem but i hope someone knows the solution.

i also get a 'unable to read' error. i saw a post about that unable to read problem somewhere but i don't remember seeing a solution or if it was related to the saving thing...

*EDIT*: Oh snap made a mistake here that was the problem with iDeaS kind of a dumb error on my part. the problem i have with dsemume 7.0 is a frame rate of about 2-5... i just assumed that it was not yet optimized for it but people here claim they get comfortable frame rates. can you share with me your settings?

Re: Megaman Zx

1) View - Magnification Filter - Normal (Best Graphic)
2)Config - Frame Skip - Tick ( limit framerate and auto minimize skipping ) - Tick the number 4 (Must be ticked!)
3)Config - Emulation setings - Tick ( use dynamic recomplier) - Untick (Enable Advanced Bus-Level Timing)
4)Config - 3D settings - Choose SoftRasterizer - SoftRasterizer Options  - Untick 3 boxes above except 1 ( Enable Textures ) - Tick all 3 boxes below. These are very important smile
5)Config - Sound Settings - Choose Synchronous then choose ''N'' below - Interpolation (sounds best - slowest) - Sound Core (Direct Sound Interface). For people try to fix the sound.
5) Must be run as administator (Unzip files) XD

Re: Megaman Zx

Thanks for sharing, but your sense of which options are important or relevant is complete nonsense. Synchronous is probably important in this game though, since there's lots of streamed speech, IIRC
