Layton and the Curious Village under 0.9.4?

I had been playing Prof Layton with desmume 0.9.1. Today I installed 0.9.4 for testing and, after loading save states, I noticed that some sprites (characters, text bubbles) don't seem to be displayed. See image:

For comparison, this is the same scene in 0.9.1:

"Rebooting" the DS and continuing from a DS savegame is somewhat better (characters are shown) but worse than before (i.e. exits to screens, normally displayed as arrows, are invisible). I tried switching the view layers off and on again, but saw no change.

I will go back to 0.9.1 for the time, but I wondered if this is a known issue and/or there is a possible solution.

Best regards, and congratulations on an excellent emulator despite the issues! smile

Yeah, submit a bug report in the sourceforge bugtracker, as mentioned in the FAQ so that the developers will hopefully pick it up and fix the issue for the next release smile

Re: Layton and the Curious Village under 0.9.4?

I just finished Professor Layton and The Curious Village, I must say this is the brilliant ds game I have ever played.

To be honest, this game worked PERFECTLY on DeSMUme 0.94. Change the renderer from OpenGL to SoftRasterizer, tick all the boxes as well, it fixes most graphic bugs including invisible directional arrows big_smile

Go to Config >> Frame Skip >> Untick limit framerate and tick "1". It should make the game running smoothly big_smile
