Saving Games?

Whenever I try to save a game, no matter which one it is (Tingle's Rupeeland, Mario and Luigi RPG 3, and multiple versions of these games), something weird happens. I can save the game perfectly fine, it even creates a .sav file, but the game automatically thinks the save is corrupted, and destroys the save. Can someone please tell me whats up? Other than this, great emulator

Re: Saving Games?

What i mean to say is that the .sav file, for some reason, does not cooperate with the game. I have the game in a zip folder, and the emulator unzipped, both on my desktop, if that helps

Re: Saving Games?

hi,

look at my post on zelda Phantom hourglass :
http://forums.desmume.org/viewtopic.php?id=647
i 've the same problem, and i manage to solve it by creating the .sav file with IdeaS (an other emulator).
1) delete the .sav file.
2) Run your game with IdeaS to create the .sav File. (i d'ont play with IdeaS, because it has a bad sound emulation and it is a little slower than DeSmume)
3) now, you can play and save correctly with DeDmume. (i tested it only with zelda)

Tel me if it work for your game.

Re: Saving Games?

Perhaps a bug should be submitted about this over on SourceForge ? (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=ad … tid=832291)

Re: Saving Games?

I tried both so far, with minimal results. Im not quite sure if its a glitch that iDeaS can't load a rom if it's still in .zip form, or if it is unzipped as a .NDS file. Should i find a better version of iDeaS or do something else?

Re: Saving Games?

Try setting the savetype manually (refer to http://www.advanscene.com/ to check what savetype the version of your game is), then try saving the game and check if it still comes out corrupted.

I tried doing this, but when I reload it with DeSmuME, the game says the save files are corrupt. Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

Re: Saving Games?

i figured out how to fix it now. You have to mess around with the save type until you get one that works (its in the dropdown menu Config, first one). For my game, tingle's rupeeland (Europe), i was able to get it to work at FLASH 2 MBit, if that helps anyone else.
