Latin characters in user name

When i try to play a game this error pops up - ''Could not get read/write access to the battery save file! The file will not be saved in this current session. Choose Config > Path Settings and ensure that the SaveRam directory exists and is available for read/write access.''
I now know that it pops out because i have multiple latin characters in my user name,  but i haven't been able to fix it. I tried the nightly build, I tried putting it on user without latin characters but that also didn't work. the battery and states folders dont exist and i just dont know what to do now. I am not really knowledgeable in computer terms and english isnt my first language so its pretty hard for me. I would be really grateful for help, thank you!

Re: Latin characters in user name

This seems unlikely. many related bugs have been fixed in nightly. I am able to specify a directory "BatteryÖ"

Just run it with all your files in c:\temp\desmume

Next time, don't use anything but English letters and numbers in your windows name (NO SPACES EITHER) and you will avoid many application bugs and other inconveniences.

You can also make a symbolic link from c:\Users\PÖÖR CHOICE to c:\Users\BetterChoice. open an administrator command prompt and enter this:
mklink /d c:\Users\BetterChoice "c:\Users\PÖÖR CHOICE"
