Black Screen (MID GAMEPLAY)

Hi there,

I have been playing a Storm Silver Rom without any issues. Today I was playing and randomly when I pressed the bag option, both the top and bottom screens went black. The music is still playing but I have no controls over anything within the game. I also made the stupid mistake of not saving for the last few hours, so I am desperate to not lose all of this progress. Anyone experience anything similar or know a fix that will keep my progress? I know people experience this on start-up using save states, (while I have been using save states, I now know to use the in-game save) but I have not seen people saying this has happened midgame for them.

Any help is very appreciated!!!

Stop using an ancient version of the emulator. The bug was fixed a few years ago. Work around this problem and similar ones in any version of the emulator but not using savestates.

I am using the most recent release of the emulator?? and as I stated in my original post, I am aware of not using save states anymore. You really offered no help.

Also, the issue does not seem to be from a save state as again, as I stated above, it occurred mid game. Not as I was loading any form of save.

OK, if you say so. You offer no proof so I can only assume the kinds of mistakes people always make. And you did literally say you're using savestates. Anyway, Storm Silver is also a romhack, so it is buggy, and you will need to get help from the hackers.

The only other similar instance I have seen with other people is where the top screen is black but the bottom screen still shows the game menu and other options. For me, both top and bottom screens are black. Unsure of how to add an image to a comment but it would just show both boxes and full black squares. I was mainly just unsure if there was a setting to change within the emulator that would solve the issue. I have heard of people changing the 3D rendering for the other issues but that did not seem to fix mine

There are thousands of similar instances of all kinds of bugs due to using buggy romhacks. Test another game (NOT a hack), change config > display method, and ask your kid brother what they did to mess up your computer
