Transfering save state from emulatorgames.net into DeSmuME

Hello! I have been playing Pokémon platinum on emulator games.net simply by using the online play future. I keep my safe states on my desktop. I want to continue where I left off on the website, but this time using DeSmuME. I have tried converting it from a sav file to a dev file but that did not seem to work. I was told to import my safe state into the “import backup memory” option under “file”, but I cannot find the input backup memory. Is there a way that I can convert my save file from emulator games.net and do a safe file that will let me play from the same spot on the DeSmuME program that I was at on the emulator games.net website? Thank you.

Re: Transfering save state from emulatorgames.net into DeSmuME

You're using battery save files, not "safe states".
Here's how you do what you need.
1. delete everything and start over
2. make a new directory on your desktop and put desmume and rom inside it
3. open the game in desmume and create a new save.
4. close desmume
5. make note of the location and name of the .dsv file that desmume has droppde
6. replace it with the one you downloaded from the games.net
7. open desmume. you're done.

Re: Transfering save state from emulatorgames.net into DeSmuME

Hello, I tried doing what I thought you suggested but it did not work. I opened the rom and made a save state in Desmume. Then I took the games.net file and moved it into the save state folder in desmume. then I deleted the basically empty save file i just created in desmume. Then i renamed the games.net save file the exact same thing as the other save file was named. then i clicked load save file and it did not work. It is telling me there is an internal error. Any advice? thanks!

stop using save states. use .dsv file only.
