Mac build will not load any roms

The problem is not, as I see suggested on every other thread of this type, compatibility. I've tried to run 5 games that are listed on the compatible list and all of them are stuck 'executing' but showing nothing but a white screen. Is there a way to fix this? As is the emulator is completely nonfunctional.

I've tried about 25 or so. I got Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, Professor Layton, Kirby Canvas Curse, and Hotel Dusk to work but none of the others would. I've been trying the US versions but I even tried the Japanese version of Pokemon Diamond (I tried downloading it from 3 sources, none of which worked). Is there something I can do or download to make these roms run properly?
