Soul silver in-game save function help

I used to always open Desmume and drag my randomized .nds file into desmume, and then the game would begin from where I had manually saved it last; After accidentally messing up my settings, when I drag the randomized .nds file into desmume it just sits at a white screen. I can still get back all my progress by loading the save state but I liked how the game used to just start playing from my previous in-game save after dropping the .nds file into demume. Any one know what I did to mess that up or how to help me fix it? I'm on version 0.9.12 svn0 x64-JIT

Re: Soul silver in-game save function help

I dunno man, make backups of your settings before you mess them up. This happens to lots of people but we have no idea how. They're all hacking or cheating or changing something around. It's also possible you didn't change anything but your save file is corrupted due to computer malfunction or closing desmume while it was in the middle of saving; you should be making backups of your .dsv if it's precious to you, like you should make a backup of any precious file. It's also possible you've been hacking the rom and trying to load the old save file and you've just struck out by creating a hacked rom that creates save files that no other hacked roms can read. We can't guarantee what will happen if you hack roms and try to load data other rom versions created, but white screens at bootup are a likely outcome.

Re: Soul silver in-game save function help

I ended up just moving my desmume app and battery folder from my downloads to my desk top and it started worked the way it was before, thank you for your time

Re: Soul silver in-game save function help

weird. i have almost no explanation for why that would be. but if it happens again can you please note which paths are written in the desmume.ini file? a discrepancy between those and where the files actually are might explain something
