i cant use any button after a while i play

I play digimon world ds on desmune and in certain moments of the game it gets buggy and the letters i use to pass the dialogues dont work (x or left click or z nothing works) but the client doesnt shut down or the game freezes. Its as if i left the game there without touching it. Cant use any button so how can i fix that?

stop using savestates. save in-game frequently. close the emulator. open it again and load the in-game save.
