how the heck do i start the game

sorry for the stupid question, but when i load in Pokémon black 2 i load into the game and i hit enter and it loads me to the next screen where it shows new game, mystery gift, unova link, etc. but when i click enter on "new game" it does not start up so i went to config and select control config, it tells me "enter" is to start and "shift" is to select i hit both of those keybinds and it does not start up the game so i switched the keybinds to space and F still when i hit space or f it does not start up on new game.

You made it to the keybind screen with 18 keys but yet you only tried 2 of them? Try the other 16
