Finding Textures?

Is there any good way to find certain textures other than digging through the game's files in Tinke or NSMBe? Any way at all to look at a list of textures that loaded recently while running a game?

Re: Finding Textures?

You would have to hack the sources to find the textures loaded in-game (there may be old debug code left laying around to dump them all, developed when the texture format decoding was being worked on). But keep in mind those aren't going to be correlated to filenames. So if you're wanting to use it to find files in the rom, it won't help except maybe unless the filenames are all nonsense and you can decode them but have no way of figuring out what's what without seeing the in-game context

Do you have anymore information on where I can find this old debug code and how I can use it to find the current textures loaded?

Re: Finding Textures?

you should be using no$gba
but if you insist on using desmume, search code for DEBUG_DUMP_TEXTURE

What can I do with no$gba? Unfortunately the download link on their site is dead, but I found version 3.02 on another site. I don't see any texture dump feature but maybe I need the latest version?

Oh jeez thanks!! I can't believe that's the first few results on google. I see the debugger version has a nice memory editor built in and everything. I will mess around with the vram viewer and see where that takes me. Thanks!
