Emulator Touchscreen lag

I'm currently playing rhythm heaven and it lags everytime I hover over the touch screen with my mouse or even just the whole emulator. It doesn't lag when my cursor is holding still but as soon as I make a rapid movement, it basically freezes up. How do I fix this?

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

It's your operating system or gpu driver's fault. Try changing desmume's [config > display method] to keep from upsetting it so much. You should also disable any "enhancements" offered by your laptop or mouse or GPU vendor.

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

I get what your trying to say but your instructions are vague. Where is "config" Is it my system settings? And what do I do once I reach "display method"

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

Sorry, it was too much to assume you'd have desmume open with the word CONFIG written on it and figure out that's what I was talking about, so I updated my post to say that.

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

I changed the displays and stuff and tested each one but no matter what I chose, the emulator would constantly freeze up when I moved the cursor

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

Then your computer is gunked up by some "enhancement" software. Start uninstalling. You should also try upgrading and downgrading your GPU drivers

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

I dont think my computer asked me for any "game enhancers" nor do I have any so I still can't find the problem. And I feel like having your GPU drivers updated fully is the best thing to do. I still cant figure out this problem

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

Nope, GPU drivers routinely break things. Sometimes years-old versions can be the best for specific applications.
You may not know you have "enhancement" software installed. Sometimes it comes preinstalled, sometimes it's installed as malware, sometimes your kid brother installs it.

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

"Ah yes I figured it out shortly after. I tried every display method and the screen would still freeze up. I know a youtube tutirial originally wanted me to pick OpenGL since I use a NVDIA graphics card but I tried every other display and it didn't work. I dont think my computer offered any enhancements either. I use windows 10 so."

Re: Emulator Touchscreen lag

your mouse probably has a high polling rate, like 1000hz. this rate can cause issues with some games and apps like desmume. try lowering it to 250hz using the manufacturer's software (in my case logitech has G hub)
