DeSmuME won't open

I've recently installed DeSmuME, however i can't get it to open. It's a fresh download so there's been no changes to the .ini file and i haven't loaded any games on it. I have installed different versions to no avail. When i launch it, it shows up in my taskbar, and when i hover over it, it just shows a white rectangle. When i click it from the taskbar nothing happens and the emulator just doesnt seem to ever open. This happens whether I try to launch the emulator directly form the .exe or if i try to launch a game through it. This is the only emulator I'll use seeing as it has controller support, adjustable windows sizes, and loads of other features that other emulators don't have.

Re: DeSmuME won't open

your GPU drivers are broken.
make an ini file containing only this

Display Method=3

and see if desmume will boot. if that doesnt work, try other values 0,1,2

Re: DeSmuME won't open

I did the most logical thing and set it as the desmume.ini in the install directory, but neither 0,1,2, or 3 worked and i have the same white thumbnail in the taskbar issue

Re: DeSmuME won't open

That may not have been the logical place. I dont know where "install directory" is but use process monitor to watch which ini file desmume is reading. It may be reading a broken one with a memory of window position which is massively wrong. delete that ini file once you find it. Or launch desmume and hit alt+space, M and then use arrow keys to move the window back into a visible position
