why desmumes performance is worse than drastic?

my pc is not good by today standards but my phone that has way worse specs can run drastic very smoothly almost without lag. In desmume it lags on some parts.

life's too short to make stuff run fast. the drastic author gets his rocks off making stuff fast, not to mention he gets paid.

maybe cause most phones run off arm chips? and arm is the ds native cpu making emulator much easier on a phone or tablet? but im not sure.
