Hi !
I know there is a lot of topic about this but I havn't found any real answer, or it just doesn't work...So I hope someone can help
I'm trying to send my pokemon soulsilver save from my computer (DESMume 0.9.11) to my flashcard (M3DSReal). I tried the "export backup memory" button, to get a .sav file, but when it load the save on the DS, it just goes black screen and nothing. Funny thing, I have an old No$GBA save file (a .SAV file, yeah, capslock), it work, the game load. But it's a veeery old save, with a lot less game time
If you have any hint, I'll be more than happy !
P.S : on DESMume, i've configured frame skip and such, can it interfere with the export ? I've also tried to export the backup memory as a .sav for no$gba but it doesn't work when I try to open it, I get an error message. Is the exporting fuction broken ?
Thanks !

no, those cant interfere with the export. Export backup memory works perfectly, unless your backup memory is broken by having cheated or romhacked in pokemon and you've been using savestates all along and therefore not noticed.

Well...No cheat and no savestate. At All. The only thing in your description that can maybe fit, it's a patched version of the game (because you know, lot of problem, etc)

you can verify that the .sav is correct by using it on any other emulator. You could even import it into desmume by getting the pre-existing .dsv out of the way. But I'm sure it's correct. Importing save data is a lot harder than exporting it. Youll probably need to find help from pokemon gamers or M3DSReal users

Actually, that's where it's getting strange. I tried as you said. I exported as a raw .sav, re-imported and it worked. But as soon as I try to copy this .sav in the battery folder of no$gba emulator and launch the game, I'm getting an error. And I tried to export with both method (raw format or no$gba format) from desmume but no way to make it work in no$gba. Maybe I've missed the "import" option in no$gba (I havn't found one, so I'm just copy/pasting the file to the battery folder).
And on top of that, as I said, when I put a nativ no$gba .sav file in my flashcard, it work perfectly fine. That's why I'm thinking there's something strange with the import/export of desmume.

no$gba requires skills. You have to change the format to uncompressed in the config file or something like that. Maybe your flashcard knows how to import nocash saves but not raw saves (which are hard to import because the size is frequently wrong).
In 60 seconds I just imported a PKMN SS .sav exported from desmume into nocash.
So either you're doing something weird (and stop doing that) or you dont know how to tell nocash to use a raw save file.
Desmume's save files are frequently SCRAMBLED by cheating and hacked roms. It's weird that it can reload its own scrambled file, but whatever. There's no warranty for cheaters and hackers.

When you speak of changing the format to uncompressed in the config file you're speaking of this line ? If this is this one, it's already in. (Because I had to import sav from no$gba to desmume and you can't do it without this line).
SAV/SNA File Format == Raw
I just put the .sav in the battery file of no$gba. So, it's not the good way do it ? I tried to search on the web but everyone seem to doing that.
I've understood hack can kill the save but,
-I don't hack
-I don't cheat
-I don't use savestate
So no problem from here
Here, if you want, the raw .sav I got from exporting in DESMume
raw file
Edit : Same file, but exported as a "no$gba" sav file when exporting from desmume...
no$gba format sav file

I loaded the raw file just fine in nocash by putting the .sav in the battery file of nocash. This thread is boring. Go find a nocash help thread. Maybe youre using some weird hacked version of nocash.
