I have since tried about 45 games and none have ever even gotten to the title screen. Most do not show anything except for a white background. Some will show a red Nintendo logo but nothing else. I have tried this on several different computers and no one is able to get anything running.

fenne: Did you check if the compatibility list to see if they're compatible?

Yes sir, I actually went directly there and tried to find games that were listed as having the highest compatibility. Most I couldn't get to go past the white screen, or if they did actually boot, there was just a bunch of random garbage. Never any title screens or anything that accepted user input.

I did get some interaction with 0735 - Castlevania - Portrait of Ruin (US).
I can get what looks like a graveyard at the top, and a black screen at the bottom. The only keys that seem to do anything when pressed are the N key which is supposed to be the right trigger, and the C key which is supposed to be the left trigger. Pressing the C key resets the DS at all times. Pressing the N key sends it forward into a menu about starting the game. However no sprites, nor any 3D are visible. Letting the game sit there seems to play the opening movie. However the C key resets the DS, and while I can press the N key several times to finally move forward to a 'Enter your name' screen, there is black on the top screen and red on the bottom, with no sprites or 3D or anything else to click.
Looks like this

Ouch, the MacOS version seems to have a few bugs...

Did you take the build here:
http://membres.lycos.fr/jvernet/Softs/software.htm
I add some success to run software with my own build. But I think that the Mac Code is dead, and do not see a lot of change in the CVS for a while.
I also saw that the x86 build doesn't work, little endian problem that I cannot find.
I will try to post an How To build desmume under MacOsX (it's not so hard.... Install SDL, load the sources, then.... eh, will need my XCode Project).... I will make an archive and post it here.
