Resizing issues

when i use 0.9.8 i could resize the window to my desire size as if i play full screen the horizontal and vertical is very small not fill up the screen so window mode is prefered.
But in 0.9.9 the window mode of vertical and horizon seems to be locked at the small size if i resize them they wont increase size, only a grey part appear as i increasing the size (the vertical mode even has a big white line in between the 2 screens), the 1 LCD mode is fine.
anyway to fix this ...?
my version is the latest i guess 0.9.9 x86 MSVC v1500

Re: Resizing issues

this is abnormal. perhaps your video drivers are broken. try choosing a different display method from the desmume config menu.

thanks for reply i believe my video driver is not the latest but i'm having some issues updating it, but i just increase my resolution from 1024 to 1280 and when play at maximized it a bit better the resizing issue may be doesnt matter now.... just have 1 more question when u play desmume in maximized does it fill up the screen (when play horizontal mode) or it fill up like 2/3 just between the screen??

Re: Resizing issues

whether it fills up the screen depends entirely on your desktop resolution. only you can answer that.

my native resolution is 1366 and it looks biggest in that resolution but still not fill the screen but anyway it looks better currently and is playable now, gonna stick with 0.9.9 for its perfect speed.
thank you for answering my questions.

Re: Resizing issues

I should add that it is extraordinarily unlikely to fill the screen in any resolution, and it would depend on your operating system theme since the window title takes up space.

i'm using the classic theme of xp lol very thin taskbar yes i also think fill the screen when maximized on horizontal mode is impossible.. it just when using 0.9.8 u could play on windowed mode and stretch the screen so that it kinda fill the monitor so yeah 0.9.9 cannot do that the desmume screen stretch but the game screen stay still inside...
but it really not a problem after all i guess.

Re: Resizing issues

if 0.9.9 cant do that, it is due to a bug in your video drivers, as we discussed.

Re: Resizing issues

Are you 100% sure on that? I got the exact same problem. I still use 0.98 just because i can play it in full screen. Does that mean i also have the bug? I'm using i5 3570k w intel hd graphics 4000. Here some screenshots that clearly explains the issue that im also having.

0.9.8

Re: Resizing issues

ok, you guys are right, you just havent explained it well. What youve done is uncheck 'force maintain aspect ratio' and resized the window to mostly fill up your monitor. Youre not using fullscreen, youre not maximizing.

It does seem you were able to get the results you want in 0.9.8 and not 0.9.9. However, its possible that the results you got in 0.9.8 were never intended. They were accidental. Note that if you maximize instead of manually resizing, the game floats in letterbox bars which preserve the aspect ratio. There shouldnt be any difference between what it looks like maximized and what it looks like manually resized to the same size. You are technically considered insane for wanting it the way you want it.

Theres nothing you can do about it. This could possibly be fixed in future versions, but im not sure ive ever heard anyone ask for it before.
