Hi, I recently downloaded Desmume for Windows and for some reason I cannot open it at all. I have extracted the files into a folder already and whenever I try to open up/click on the file no window appears and nothing shows up in the taskbar. I've tried downloading the other versions and none of them have worked either. Some support would be grateful.

Try extracting it into a folder that isn't protected by windows (I.E. try on c:\desmume , not in program files). Also might want to try running it as admin. Delete the .ini file just in case.

Hi thanks for replying! I tried extracting to a folder in the C: drive but it still hasn't worked and as for running it on admin, I can't because I don't have access to it. Where can I find the .ini file?

the ini file goes in whichever directory the exe is in
is your windows running under a non-english operating system version?

Not that I know of. I mean I got it here in Australia so I don't think so? This is all I see http://postimage.org/image/baap5xgpb/.

if the program isnt running, then the ini wont be getting created. try rebooting.

Alright well I've got the ini and I deleted it and I also restarted my laptop and it still doesn't work. If there is no workaround do you have any other ideas for how I can play nds roms?

If the ini file gets created then desmume presumably does load up (and possibly closes as soon as it opens).
You could try one of the newer builds from emucr and see if that works, though I can't really think of a reason it would.
Also, what do you mean you don't have access to running things as admin? Is the computer locked/limited in some way?

Alright well desmume appears in the task manager but not in the task bar or any window, and as for the admin it's because this laptop was given by the school I'm at and they refuse to give us any kind of access.
EDIT: Tried everything and still nothing has worked. The strange thing is that it used to work on my old DELL laptop which had the exact same configuration and admin privileges as this one.
