Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

i don't see any particular reason why it should occur, I cannot reproduce it under Win 7 x64 in the 32bit and 64bit binaries

Zeromus did notice some potentionally unsafe code in the gethostname and gethostbyname functions but this should be crashing the emulator on start rather than when a game is being played.

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

can you try running the exact same desmume and the exact same rom on another computer? this could have to do with some crapware installed on your system which is messing up the winsock

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

I can reproduce this under my VM.

with a trimmed copy of the rom, the emulator boots, though not quite as fast as files even smaller.

findpkq, if you wait long enough the 512MB rom will load.

but workarounds for now include trimming the rom (to around 280MB) or using builds without experimental wifi enabled.

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

the problem i see all happened  in win xp,maybe it  only apear in some special system environment

many of my friends can run them successfully, but there are also some players have same problem
and i can also run them successfully a long time ago

emulator crashed immediately as i opened those rom

i can solve this problem when i choose infrastructure(like #21),i can share desmume which has jit  with ini file,if wifi will not add in formal 0.99 version ,it is not in a hurry to solve

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

even better, is to use binaries that don't have experimental features enabled.... which emucr just refuses to listen to sense and disable >.>

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

thank you for your patience

would you mind my asking some questions here?

is it possible to fix little mapping error in opengl?
and it is impossible to add fog in opengl,is it?
i know it will be a long time to rewritten softrasterizer

and it is possible to speed up more after using jit?to run game at a full speed on more old computer?
will desmume add Anti-aliasing in the future?

and please don't forget to add a swich of dynamic recomplier in all language tongue
while i wish to add an off swich of wifi because it should install winpcap before changing it to infrastructure

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

its not impossible to add fog, it just required capabilities that the version used (1.2) was incapable of.

Rogerman is planning an overhaul of the opengl in the future.

JIT might get even faster when PGO is performed (official dot point release builds only)
Desmume includes antialiasing NOW, but only in opengl

WIFI issues are low priority since its not really useful for end users anyway. But if you have patches, you can add them to an artifact on source forge.
Whether the patch is committed is up to dev review and any voting systems they use.

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

thanks a lot
could you add a swich to disable wifi in wifi setting
though there's the problem when choose ad-hoc and i can use infrastructure, but it can't change mode until install winpcap or the the button is grey
if i set wifi mode=1 in ini file ,it may struct when loading the rom without winpcap smile

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

WIFI enabled builds do take longer to open 512MB roms under windows XP, for some reason, which can crash the first few attempts to open them....

as i said, trimming, and using a non wifi build do relieve the issue somewhat....

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

Is there anyway to get Wi-Fi connection in the 0.9.9 version? o_o (or 0.9.8 version, a version with "use dynamic recompiler" option)

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

i have seen this problem happen at least ten times on the forum in only 3 days!
windows xp (chinese simplified)  ad-hoc   crash as soon as i load those rom    everything goes well when i choose infrastructure, open as fast as non wifi build (like ver0.98
so is there any jit version with out wifi
or i should pack  a winpcap installation package when i share desmume with jit?

however,thank you all the same

You can get WiFi free PGO SVN builds from CrazyMax.

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

PGO is a process done when the release is made. All formal versions are PGOd.

Even with a WiFi enabled build, you won't get much out of it.

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

Sorry to disturb you again
please don't forget to add 'use dynamic recomplier' switch in emulation settings in all language in formal version ,or it may close when i save settings in some languages . like 'enable textures' in 0.97 formal version

thank you very much

Re: [jit]pokemon black2 crash

i can almost positively guarantee that we will forget to add some options to some languages. it is the responsibility of whoever adds the language in the first place to keep it up to date, and they never do.
