'Unable to initialize openGL'

I always get this error when I first start up DeSmuME V0.7.2
It lets me use drop-down lists and such, but whenever I try to open my rom, Digimon world DS, it becomes non-responsive and freezes.
I apologise if this has already been awnsered and I've overlooked it, being the klutz I am, but it's really bugging me.
Is there a patch or something that I can download to fix this?
Oh, and just incase it's important, I am using a Windows XP Home Edition.

What graphic card, desktop screen depth, drivers, etc, do you have?
