error from load x slot Error on startup
Hi, I keep getting "error from load 9 slot" on the top screen when I try loading roms. So far, both Warlock Mountain and Fire Emblem exhibit this behavior. I can save state and load state as normal, but the "error from load 9 slot" constantly flashes on the top screen. When I try to take a screenshot from within DSEMU, the screen shot doesn't show this and it goes away a split second before appearing again. It's almost as if it's constantly trying to load from slot 9. Any help would be appreciated.

What's DSEMU? You're on the desmume forum. If youre using desmume, try deleting your ini file.

Did you try using the current version of DeSmuME, rather than 0.9.4?
Also, make sure the emulator is installed on your hard-drive and not an external drive/device, that you unpacked the emulator and are not playing it from within its compressed archive, and if all else fails - try deleting desmume.ini.
I'm also assuming you're using the windows version. Correct us if I assume wrongly.

I'll try another version. It's already installed on local drive, Windows version. The game works perfectly and I can save/load state. But that error is always present.

Oh. That's just plum weird then. Try 0.9.5
Edit: The savestate will most likely fail completely between versions, though. Savegame (i.e. in-game save) on 0.9.4, then load it through 0.9.5, then try savestates.
