Difference in graphics quality between Windows XP and Windows 7?

I have just installed a dual boot system on separate hard drives, and as I was moving from Windows XP to Windows 7, I noticed that while playing games with DeSmuME 0.9.7 in Windows XP, the graphics quality was noticeably smoother and had less jagged lines than on Windows 7. I tried Pokemon Black and some Phoenix Wright games. I opened the same exe file (on 1 hard drive) both times. I have a Core 2 Duo at 3Ghz and a Geforce 9800GT with the latest drivers, if it matters.

There really isn't any diffrence in image quality at all. There exists difrence in compatibility and bugfixes.

probably. he should try changing display method to directdraw SW in windows XP to compare to the crippled legacy API support of windows 7.

Re: Difference in graphics quality between Windows XP and Windows 7?

that is irrelevant. if you need it to play game X then you have no choice. its pretty simple.

I probably should have mentioned that I increased the window size to 2x, so it was more noticeable. So is there anything I can do to make it look better in Windows 7?

have you clicked every option yet? you might learn something if you do. most likely it would involve magnification filters

I did not experience this at all when moving from XP to Windows 7...maybe you are just missing something here or there.  Just tinker with it until you hit the right button smile

Did you increase the window size at all? Because I experience that problem when I increase the window size.
