Professor Layton save issue

I can't save in Professor Layton and the Curious Village.  I changed the save type to EEPROM 64 but it still doesn't save.  It's not a ROM problem either I don't think because it saves just fine with no$gba.  Any suggestions?

delete any file possibly having to do with professor layton and try again. dont set the save size. it should work.
