Tablet PC issue

I'm trying to use DeSmuME with a lenovo tablet.  It seems to work well except that in order for the emulator to recognize my clicks on the tablet screen, I need to double-tap the screen.  I.e. If I want to press a button in a game I have to double-click that button on the tablet screen with my stylus.  It works fine when I click with the mouse, though.

DeSmuME is a great program of course, and lots of fun, but some games can only be played practically with a tablet.  Is there any way to configure the program to receive tablet taps with more efficiency?

Thanks!

Re: Tablet PC issue

huhhhhhh i can reproduce this issue on my tablet laptop. ill try and figure out why it happens at some point, but there is no way for you to configure desmume differently. you could try configuring your tablet driver differently in the meantime.

Re: Tablet PC issue

Adding in my own $0.02, I'm using a Bamboo Pen & touch tablet and have the exact same issue. So far futzing around with the tablet settings has had little benefit, either - hopefully this'll be fixed in a future version. Also, my sound's a bit stuttery, but I'm working on that.

Other than these issues, great work with the project smile

Re: Tablet PC issue

Hello I'd just like to revive this issue because I'm having the same problem on a lenovo tablet with Windows 7.

Also, Windows 7 touch screen input is not recognized at all. It would be awesome if that would work as well, then my laptop would function as a DS XXL.

Re: Tablet PC issue

I'd like to further revive this issue because i recently got a windows 7 tablet and all works fine except for touching with the Wacom pen.  it seems that the initial touch or "click" is registered, but it will not register a "touch and hold", which is required in lots of games for moving a character.  i first tried it out today so ima see if i can find any solutions for this and share

Re: Tablet PC issue

I'm reviving this thread because I have the same problem. I have a Lenovo tablet running Windows 8 and desmume runs fine with keyboard and mouse controls, but it won't register touch inputs correctly. I have to double-tap in order for it to register.

Re: Tablet PC issue

Try telling your tablet driver settings not to be a tablet for desmume.exe. if it were possible for us to read it as a normal mouse then none of these problems would be possible, but as far as i know microsoft doesnt give us that choice.

Re: Tablet PC issue

I'm not entirely sure that's the issue. In every other instance touch inputs are read as mouse-clicks (except for a few functions such as scrolling and zooming). I can even play games like StarCraft via touchpad.

EDIT: I'm also having this issue with every other Windows NDS emulator I've tried (e.g. No$gba). Nds4droid (via BlueStacks) works normally, but it's slow (and kind of a silly solution).

Re: Tablet PC issue

its malfunctioning in desmume because desmume has code to deal with windows xp tablet devices, which works, but malfunctions on windows 7. starcraft doesnt have code trying to deal with tablet input. that's a statement about what the issue is. my last post wasnt a statement about an issue, it was a statement about what you might do to change your environment so the problem doesnt manifest.
