Last night my sound would crackle, lag and sometime repeat itself a couple times. I was able to fix the crackling, But the lag and still repeating itself a couple times. What can I do to fix this I messed around with the buffer to fix the crackling but it did nothing for the lag, Set my sync mode to synchronous and set method to Z. Still nothing just the voice just gets clear. So help please
Yes I am using the latest version

put the buffer back to its default size and use synch mode and a method other than P. you should have no more sound lag than anyone else. I cant remember how much lag Z has but N should have the least.

Umm quite a few Avalon Code, Deep labyrinth, Suikoden tierk, Luminous arc 1&2, Sands of Destruction, summon night twin age, The world ends with you, thier are more but it happens pretty much with any game with voice overs the music and Voices are crackling

There are only two ways that sounds can crackle: undersized buffer (everything crackles) and not using synch mode (voiceovers crackle). You called out voiceovers--that means it must be synch mode. But yet you said the music crackles too? On all those games, or only some of those games? Music will crackle on some games as well, but I know, for example, that deep labyrinth has sequenced music and shouldnt be crackling (unless your buffer is undersized for your sound card). I suspect all those games have sequenced music. So are you absolutely sure that the music is crackling?

Recheck Labyrinth that works alright with the music but the voice over is still crackling, other games the same thing as before music and voice. In games like pokemon pearl and Heroes Saga where theres no voice the music always plays fine.

Then your system has a bad sound card or is otherwise glitching in performance. That's why the buffer size exists. It helps bad sound cards work without crackling, at the direct cost of latency. Hate to be the bearer of bad news.
