I have the latest versions of both Desmume and OSX.
I've been using Desmume for a while now and it has worked perfectly for a number of ROMs, including Pokemon Black and Animal Crossing: Wild World. I tried running Devil Survivor 2 and everything is fine except that a lot of the text does not display properly and is rather difficult to read. The menus and whatnot are fine, but the dialogue and battle scenes are problematic. I haven't actually had to do any configurations with this before so I have no idea what to do...
Menu, which works fine:
Dialogue, which doesn't:
For reference, the dialogue is supposed to say "Just as Io says, there are even abandoned cars in the intersection..."

Use the OpenGL 3D Renderer in these cases

The only options I have in 3D rendering are SoftRasterizer and None...Do I have to install OpenGL separately or something?

you have to upgrade or downgrade your video drivers, or enable video acceleration on your system, since none of the opengl code was able to startup.

You're using an older version of DeSmuME for Mac. Older versions for Mac don't have the OpenGL 3D renderer as an option. You need to upgrade to at least v0.9.9 for Mac to use the OpenGL 3D renderer. Visit our downloads page for more details.
Downloads Page: http://desmume.org/download
Once you've downloaded the latest version, follow these steps to enable the OpenGL 3D renderer:
1. Choose View > Show 3D Rendering Settings.
2. In the 3D Rendering Settings panel, under 3D Rendering Engine, choose OpenGL.
3. (Optional) If you want to save the current 3D settings as the default setting, click Save Settings as Default.
Also, there is no need to upgrade/downgrade video drivers or "enable video acceleration" on OS X, since all of these things are built into the operating system, and are, therefore, automatic.

Oh I hadn't noticed that a new version was just released, it works perfectly with 0.9.9. Thank you all for the answers
