Hello.
I am another one of the popele who keep havign problems with slowdowns.
The game happily speeds up again after I pause it for a while; the process is running on high priority, and on all CPU's.
Neither RAM nor CPU's are maxed out (one core might be at max when it happens, though... not 100% sure, still observing on this one!)
Stats on my system:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850
4x Intel i5 (2,53 ghz each)
Win 7, 64 bit
Any hints if I can tweak something to make things run more smoothly?
Hirona
PS: I actually just watched a slowdown while the system-monitor claimed CPU-usage was falling...

tweak your system's power vs performance options which has been ineptly designed.

Hmmm... ok, strangely, I have a feeling I get less slowdowns when observing the processor-load... might be mistaken, though.
Anyway: I went through all power-settings that exists, everything seems to be in order... I also tried running it at 1x-zoom, same problem with the speed...
*sighs*
Well, at least it's playable. Still, if anyone had the same phenomenon and remember how it was solved, I'll be happy to hear about it.

Don't forget to check your BIOS power saving settings. New CPU's tend to have a few.
Computer specifications:
Windows 10 x64 | Ryzen 3700X | ASUS Crosshair Hero VIII (WiFI) Motherboard | 16GB 3600MHz RAM | Nvidia Geforce 1070Ti

Had same problem.
Simply reset Emulator after each Day after saving (press [Ctrl+R]). Then it runs smoothly.
