These games don't work in Desmume (v0.7.3-2) yet:
- Picross DS: white screen
- Children Of Mana: white screen
- Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords: shows copyright screen only
And, just a suggestion, could you sort the compatibility list by how much of a game works? It would make it much easier to find games to play.

I wanted to play rune factory so bad xD

Heroes Of Mana seems to work, but both the cutscenes and the actual game screens have severe graphics glitches (lines, black areas) that make 'playing' a matter of random clicking and hoping something useful happens.
And another suggestion, set up some filters or other barriers to keep spammers from the forum.

Children of Mana suffered a regression, it used to boot and go up to the world map.
But it got broken after the inclusion of gdb stub thing...

Yep, true, it's broken due to some unknown bug added with the GDB stub, masscat said he'd check, but apparently he hasn't got the spare time to do so

snkmad: Just uploaded a patch that fixes that regression, in case you care

Unfortunately, the latest patch seem to cause a big slowdown. Even when the screen is empty, it doesn't get above 30fps on my machine (while previous versions got easily above 60fps).
Offline
Which hardware specs do you have? I didn't see any slowdown on my tests... In fact, it should be a little faster than 0.7.1. Did you remember to set frameskip to 0 ?
Offline
Yes, frameskip is set to 0 (I also played a bit with the other settings, but those are even slower). I set the screen size to 1x through the menu (to ensure it's sized properly), but that didn't help.
Here is a test result of running the title screen of Actionloop (it draws many sprites so this is a good test):
- CVS build from 18 october: 35fps down to 20fps when the screen is 50% filled with balls
- CVS build from 20 october: 19fps down to 13fps when the screen is 50% filled with balls
I'm building with Visual Studio 2005 express for Windows XP (the project file is converted by the program) and disabling the libzzip library and definition.
I also did a few tests with some other games. The only game which isn't affected by the slowdown is yoshi's island. Other games like Mario & Luigi, Advance Wars DS and Mario vs. Donkey Kong suffer the same slowdown.
System specs:
Dell Inspiron I9100 (laptop)
Processor: 3.00 Ghz (with hyperthreading)
Memory: 1.00 GB
Videocard: ATI mobility Radeon 9700

Try reverting the OGLrender.c file to revision 1.8, the only thing that could be is ATI hardware not liking reading only BGR components, the CPU performance is 100% the same. I'll update this post in a few minutes with my tests.
UPDATE: Just builded this tests: on the left the old version, on the right the new one.
As you see the speed is the same, on a NVidia GF5600. I can't test on ATI, so until I get my hands on ATI hardware, it won't be reverted.

Alright, reverting only the oglrender.c file fixed the problem. Thanks.

henk: could you go into IRC (irc.freenode.net - #desmume), I'd like to see if you could test a few stuff to fix it properly.
Offline
Sure, I would like to help out. I don't use IRC though, maybe you have MSN? My live ID is henk54312@live.nl.

Hmm I came onto the channel shash but you were offline it seems (unless you use a different nick there), I also have an ATI graphics card so I was also willing to offer my services, unfortunately I can't help tomorrow, but if you still need help on monday I will come back to the channel and see if you are around.

And yeah i still do care about DeSmuME!
Its not like owing a real DS will make my interest for emus go away
I have a Geforce also, but you can always count on me for some testing...
