Digimon World DS Issue

Currently at a point where it seems inevitable that the lower screen will lockup on a dialogue and not allow any activity from keypresses/mouse.  However the game is still running as the digifarm timer is still ticking over

If possible id like to know:

whats causing it, the emu, the rom, or the save?

and if there is a solution, as i really would rather not start again (especially if its just going to happen again in the same place, or another)

Afaik, it's the emulator causing it, don't know the exact reason. If you provide a savegame, I can check it if you're curious.
