Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2007 (problem with automatic saving)

Hi,

I recently downloaded DeSmuME with the sole intention of playing this yugioh game. However, as soon as I boot it up and get through the opening menus (which work fine) the game tries to "auto save", and I get an error message:

"Unable to write data. Please turn off the power and reinsert the game card."

I tried loading save states from before the game tries to auto save, and they load and play just fine. However, I cannot get past this initial auto save. How do I fix this problem?

I'm currently running version 0.9.2 on my macbook with an intel core duo.

Thanks for the help!

the faq mentions nothing about this particular error that I saw. any ideas, or perhaps you have heard of this occurring in other games too?

My guess would be that The automatic savetype detection probably failed to detect the correct savetype, and you have to set it manually to the correct type. If you are lucky, information about your game (and the corresponding savetype) can be found on a website such as http://www.advanscene.com/. And if you're not as lucky, you'll just have to try them all out until you find the correct type.
