My xbox one controller isn't working (contro

I've been trying for an hour and finally been able to connect my controller to my computer. But when i go to change the inputs on desmume it wouldn't change. Essentially i want to use my wired Xbox series x controller on desmume but it won't change and just stay the same.

I'm using the modern ver. of desmume and yes, my controller is working on my pc.

your controller and/or the drivers suck and don't support directinput. You'll need to find a 3rd party pad mapping program (does autohotkey work?) to convert it to keystrokes or a virtual directinput device
