Hi, so first of all i wanna say I'm new to using emulators but I used Desmume to play pokemon black a week ago and that worked fine. You know the usual save in game --> export backup memory, log in next time --> import backup memory, it worked fine and I imagined it would work the same for Mystery dungeon. Except it doesn't? I've already installed the USA and EU versions and this doesn't work on either. I also can't actually check in game if the save worked but every time I save and export memory and quit the emulator, it didn't save my progress whatshowever. I've already looked for solutions online but none of them seem to work, can anyone help me out?? Thanks in advance

don't import and export. it's an advanced technique. it is not generally needed unless you are doing something advanced and are, yourself, advanced.

if I don't import and export it also doesn't save

you have the save directory set to a nonexistent path. if you can't figure out how to fix your settings then you need to start over
1. backup all your current stuff
2. download latest desmume. dearchive to a directory in your desktop
3. open desmume and load the game
4. close desmume
5. look for the .dsv file it dropped. if you can't find it, look harder. ask for help if you need to. do not skip this step.
6. replace the .dsv with the one from your backup
7. never import/export again
