Controls in Windows Version not working

I'm not quite sure if this has been reported yet, but somehow the Controls in the Windows Version (0.9) are partially broken. I used two different Gamepads and while I can map the Buttons, the D-Pad Input shows no response. Any suggestions ?

Re: Controls in Windows Version not working

They work perfectly with keys, might be related to joystick/pad support

Re: Controls in Windows Version not working

I just unplugged the other controller, but no luck with that - still doesn't work. That's strange, because the Input is managed through Directx Input, which is working fine in other Emulators. Is there possibly a way to configure joystick Input in the 'desmume.ini' File ?

What model of gamepad do you use? ...and version DeSmume?

Re: Controls in Windows Version not working

Could it have anything to do with the way directions/states are represented by the game pad? Usually the 8 directions on the d-pad (plus idle) are represented by the numbers 0–8. Some games however expect the directions to be represented as two axis, x and y, the way analog sticks work. My Logitech Dual Action actually have a button on it that lets me switch mode.

Disclaimer: this is my experience from using a gamepad on my Mac; I have no idea how these things are handled by Windows and Direct X.

Now it's working! I am using a PSX-Pad with PC-Adapter and switching into Analog Mode fixed it...
