Fossil Fighters "could not load file." please help!

When I try to load up a rom for Fossil Fighters, I am met with this message

I can only find two downloads for this game and both of them have this same issue. I've been lookin for a solution all day but there just doesn't seem to be one? Idk what to do!

Edit: I installed the 32 bit version of desmume, and it suddenly works? But the audio is a little fuzzy at times

so change some sound settings. that's why theyre there. you should also in general be using a newer version of desmume.
