Professor Layton and the Last Specter weird bug

Hi,
    There is an issue when running Professor Layton and the Last Specter where when I first open the game, the bottom screen is missing specifically the tabs that allow you to start new games. The background is still there, however it is only those signs that are gone strangely. Upon further inspection, the signs are actually invisible, still clickable, but the problem persists during the name creation screen right after. I have tried all types of ROMs, USA and U, but they have the same issue. If anyone could send me a working fix or another rom link that has been confirmed to work, that would be very helpful. Thanks

change graphics options -- 3d renderers and TXT hack
