So I've been having a swell time trying to get my .sav on my pc onto my drastic emulator... anyway, my next guess was to get a .dsv file and do stuff with that, but i have no idea how. I can only save as a .sav or .dst on desmume so i did an ingame save and tried to look for the battery folder, but it's not there. I've seen other people have a "reveal game save folder" or something like that in the file menu but i don't have it. How do i find my .dsv?

desmume does not create .sav. I don't know what you're talking about. Desmume does save .dsv.
Other people who have "reveal game save folder"--theyre using OSX. Are you?
Whether you run windows or OSX, your system has a built-in file searching function. Try using it.

I have a .sav from a cart, then import it into desmume.
I forgot how but I'm pretty sure it let me save as a .sav, maybe because it was loaded as a .sav.
I'm using Windows but I'm not sure what to search. I've looked through some files but couldn't find it. What should I search?

desmume did not let you save as a .sav because it was loaded as a .sav, it lets you export as a .sav any time.
If you want to find .dsv, dont search for pancakes, or possums. Search for .dsv. If you want to find battery, search for battery. In other words, search for what you want to search for.
Also, if youre running desmume from a zipfile, stop. Dearchive it to your desktop. Files exist on your hard disk. Programs run from zipfiles create files which exist on your hard disk at an unknown location. Programs run from your disk create files which exist on your hard disk at a known location.
