Okay, well I got it to work for myself anyway
It's nice to be able to build it every day and use the latest and greatest. ![]()
I'm trying to build the x64 version of the emulator. I can get the win32 version to build just fine (although there's a debug console, but it still works perfectly). The x64 version is having problems linking various libraries:
1>LINK : fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file 'vfm32.lib'
It also cannot find winmm.lib, opengl32.lib, and so on, as they are specified in the Input in the Linker options.
Is the build file incorrect? Do I have to install more stuff? Right now, I installed the 2010 express version of visual c++. I also downloaded the windows 7 sdk with .net 4.0 support, which is the latest version available at microsoft's website. This enabled the x64 support in visual c++ since it did not come by default.
I looked and I see that the vfm32.dll file is in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\Lib\x64"
How do I tell your build file that it's there? I am not total newb when it comes to programming, but I don't program in windows or use c++ anymore at all for at least 15 years, so...
I'd appreciate whatever help you can offer
Thanks!
EDIT: Actually, nevermind... I found the setting to add additional library directories. My guess is that this is NOT good for people checking it out of SVN... so perhaps you'll have to add it in your build file to template variable that actually points to a location like this one:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\Lib\x64

Have you tried the lastest SVN? If i remember correctly, these problem was fixed some time ago...
Etrian Odyssey 3 just came out on the 21st. It's very odd because your emulator plays it amazingly well. It just has this little wrinkle in it ![]()
EDIT: Well, seeing how this works with no$zoomer (just got it to work... had to rename the bios files to different names than they were with this emulator), it must be a problem with the emulator itself. It is not an AP problem or a ROM problem. This has to be the case
It's too bad because I actually prefer this emulator. It doesn't look as blurry and the picture is better.
Just the 2. I figure the chances are higher since different people read different forums on various websites.
When entering the shop in the main town, the dev.exe version spits out this:
Reading beyond end of cart! ... 0202DA00 > 02000000
Does that mean it's a bad rom? That the emulator doesn't know what to do?
It is odd that entering the shop causes this... but you can buy stuff and all of that. It only freezes when you leave the shop.
Considering though that this is the only place where this error happens, and that is where the game freezes, it stands to reason that there is probably some correlation.
I can play it just fine, but going into the shop to buy armor/weapons... and then leaving... will cause the game to freeze as the screen fade's out to go back to the main town menu screen. Oddly enough, the music stills plays as the screen is frozen. Otherwise the rom works perfectly.
If there's some setting that I can make to fix this, that'd be great.
Thanks!
