We won't make a 3DS/2DS emulator.

But DeSmuME still lives, right? It's dawning on a year since we've last seen an update or heard any official news about the latest revision of the emulator.

#2 Re: Compatibility » Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2010 Reverse of Arcadia (fixed in 0.9.8) » 2011-10-24 15:59:35

It's better on 9.6 than it is 9.7. But 9.6 has issues as well, to a lesser degree than 9.7.

9.7 will sit there and hang after a short period

9.6 after awhile will just seemingly freeze

I know this is more than 2 months old, but interestingly enough. This game is completely compatible on 9.5 or below; it doesn't seem compatible with later versions for whatever reason. (Haven't tested it on 9.6 yet, though)

#4 Re: General » Problem with certain Pokemon Platinum ENG AR codes » 2010-10-07 11:08:20

It's not the emulator, it's the binary of the coding of the Action Replay codes themselves. Why is 50% of this board all Pokemon? x.x It probably big enough to get its own forum.

I wanted to be more "enlightened", I guess. Seems I posted this in the wrong place, my apologies.

I am certainly not savvy, at all, when it comes to computers and their technical significances. I'm planning on getting a new PC soon, hopefully. This one I came across is a fair $749.

Key features: Windows 7 Home Premium; AMD Phenom™l II 820 quad-core processor; 8GB memory and 1TB hard drive; built-in wireless networking; 20" widescreen LCD monitor included
Features

    * Desktop also features: Double-layer DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with LightScribe labeling; NVIDIA GeForce 9100 graphics; 15-in-1 media reader
    * Monitor features: Ultrafast 5 ms response time; nonglare screen; 1000:1 contrast ratio; digital (DVI-D) with HDCP and standard analog VGA inputs; Quick View modes; swivel and tilt design; built-in speakers
    * This package price will no longer be valid if you return one of the items. See the details.
    * Best Buy's Bundle Return Policy applies to this package purchase. Items in package may ship separately.

The computer seems better than the $3,000 one I bought 3 years ago (which is currently out of service). But I'm skeptical when it comes to cheap things... Basically, what I'm getting at is, would a PC of this caliber be enough to run the emulator sufficiently?

I assume that's regardless of how strong your PC may be?

I'm just pondering, for no particular reason. If the Nintendo 3DS is essentially just a normal DS with 3D aesthetics integrated on a new unit and different game titles, would it then be possible to make the current DeSmuME engine compatible with these gimmick features, so to speak? Like I said before, I don't really care about it either way, I was just curious as to what might possibly be next when normal DS titles start taking a backseat to this sort of pseudo "next gen" form of gaming.

My troll senses are tingling.

#10 Re: General » Pokemon GTS » 2010-04-05 06:54:31

Nope, hopefully they'll develop a "Link Trade" (ie "wireless" trade) in the future.

#12 Re: General » Pokemon Soul Silver Sprout tower: » 2010-03-16 00:57:34

No Wi-Fi, no trading (you can use AR/Pokesav, but that really diminishes the gaming experience), Pokeathon is a pain without a stylus.

These type of games, which are heavily based on Wi-Fi and trading between games are just bad on emulator.

#13 Re: General » Pokemon Soul Silver Sprout tower: » 2010-03-14 17:00:52

You may as well get the actual game anyway. There's so many features you can't take advantage of on the emulators yet, and some that are hard to use.

Let's hope! I'm getting exciting waiting, 9.4 was a huge improvement over the previous version. (this is more of a ponder than it is a question..)

#15 Re: Support II (decommissioned) » Kingdom Hearts freeze » 2009-10-06 05:21:24

DeSmuME might not be ready for a game as powerful as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 at least until a couple of more version releases. Hopefully it emulates near perfectly sometime later in the next year though.

#16 Re: Support II (decommissioned) » Soul Silver Stuck » 2009-09-21 22:12:03

I noticed, I saved before that specific battle again and it went through. They're getting smart about pirating now lol. Can't blame them, I plan on buying the game anyway, but there's just more you can do on an emulator easily.

Not sure if it occurs with this particular sequence, or if it just happens randomly when battle occurs. I fought a trainer before this one though. I'll try to get a better save depicting the problem better later.

Edit: If you need the patched version in order to load that save file, I can PM it to you.

#18 Re: Support » How do i get the videos on to movie maker » 2009-09-21 16:05:46

I'm guessing extreme latency is normal when you're recording?

#19 Re: Support II (decommissioned) » Soul Silver Stuck » 2009-09-21 16:02:41

Hmm, I ran into the "freeze" problem. Quite a strange way for the game to crash. Music in the background still plays, only in battle, the Pokemon doesn't get summoned and the Poke Balls in your roster just spins around. Pseudo-freezing any one?

It's the HG/SS translator dude!

Ehrm, the only notable issue I've noticed was the ground being slightly pixelated, that isn't a huge or noticeable aspect of the game play.

Oh my, I feel so embarrassed. Thank you for pointing this out, nevertheless.

Well, I'm sure there are certain games that can hurt certain people's eyes or confuse them when glaring at the gaming screen for too long. Dividers in the equator of both of the screens would take a lot less strain off people's eyes when playing certain games such as the listed one below.

DesMume.jpg

A minor example of what I am conveying would be this:

DesMume2.jpg

The current format, with games that use both screens to portray the same environment, some objects and backgrounds look buckled in when they're placed in the center, between the two screens. Putting dividers would likely ease the strain on some people's eyes and help them distinguish better what they're looking at. I hope I don't come across as too selfish or rude for merely suggesting such an idea. I don't expect anything from anyone, other than their consideration.

I already own Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl on the Nintendo DS system. I honestly don't want to allocate unnecessary funding to the special edition version which is essentially the same with a few cosmetic and plot-line feature tweaks. That's why I was thinking of turning to emulation for this, however, I want to play the game in its entirety. Meaning, are there any VIDEO or GRAPHICAL errors currently on Pokemon Platinum that I should know about? Missing objects, discoloration, graphical bugs etc. If someone can provide me with closer on this; I'd nicely appreciate it. Otherwise I just won't play the game.
