I have noticed the same problem with 0.9.4 and now 0.9.5 especially. I am also running Vista. But, mkfan1, before you simply write the problem off as being the operating system's fault, consider that with my PC's configuration I can play any 3D PC game on the highest settings with well over 30fps. I have an i7 processor (4 cores) and even running DeSmuME in SoftRasterizer mode should pose no problems. I can also run PCSX2 and play Final Fantasy XII with much better results than DeSmuME. The emulator *is* slow, most likely due to poor coding. I'm a software developer by trade and very infrequently is the problem the operating system. Remember Occam's razor: the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

Then perhaps you could be so kind to spend some quality time by profiling desmume, and sending in optimized patches ? Since it's open source, the codebase *is* available for peer review and improvements, you know.

VisualCSharp: Being a developer, do what lbalbalba said.

VisualCSharp can't even build desmume.

zeromus: If that's true, that's quite a crappy coder by trade, considering that building desmume is child's play compared to other stuff I've worked over the years.

I agree. Maybe VisualCSharp don't even bother to learn how to build desmume. Even though I'm 13 years old but I can build desmume from the latest SVN and the stable release source code. Building desmume is very easy, I think even people younger than me can do it too.
I want to be a programmer.

you guys are funny. I think he meant VisualC# as programming language / IDE, not the user by that name..

yonizaf: Yes, I thought of that possibility, but it's a lousy joke. If that's what he meant (and not that he wasn't able to build desmume, then asking, for example, on #desmume IRC channel how to build it), then I'll eat my words

unless he tried to compile desmume using visualCSharp, hence the double meaning..
