If you have a microphone conected to your PC just blow.... it's works for me.... (or you can find a wav file that sound like a human blowing tongue)
actually yesterday I finished the game... Thanks to desmume developers!!!

really it's a entertaining game... they need to work a little in the sound but then it's perfect big_smile

use the mic noise hotkey. it may not work in 0.9.4, but i recently made sure that it will be working on those very torches for 0.9.5

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

I used my microphone and finally got it to work if you need to get it to work in 0.9.4 then you'll have to see if you can find a sound file of someone blowing and set it up so it uses that file when the hotkey is pressed.

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

I have also been having trouble with the mic.  I downloaded a .wav file of a whistle blowing, set the microphone setting to said clip, set the microphone hotkey button to backspace, stood in front of the candle and pressed the backspace button.  I have desmume version 0.9.4.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

desmume 0.9.4 doesnt load a wav file for the mic, it loads a raw pcm which must meet certain criteria. this is made more clear in 0.9.5

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

I actually got it to work right after I posted my last message.  For some reason, a .mp3 file worked just fine.  Thanks anyway

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

well an mp3 sounds like noise as raw pcm so you couldve loaded anything, including a pic of your mom, and it may have worked

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

using a mic and converting wavs is basic windows operational skills and probably outside the scope of this forum, so i wouldnt hold my breath waiting for help. as for your problem, it has been answered in the other thread. why bother to post twice? all youll do is annoy the people most likely to help you

Mic hotkey still doesn't seem to blow out torches. Mic test under options at beginning recognizes it but the sound does not extinguish the candles.

Can you upload your savestate or savegame on a free hosting like mediafire? I want to test it...

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

Looks like the mic noise hotkey quit working in zelda. It works with a real mic. Ill upload a suitable wav file for those who dont have mics. OSX/linux users are out of luck.

Here is the wav: http://wiki.desmume.org/index.php?title … ise095.wav

There's my save files if they are still relevant. However, the wav clip zeromus uploaded worked great and is greatly appreciated. (= For whatever reason the noise to blow out the candle seems to be very specific. And strangely enough I had success with a wind sound effect clip for one but wouldn't work for the other. I also converted a couple random songs and let them play through and had no success that way either. Thanks a lot for the clip though. I was about to break down and go buy a mic and its like -35 degrees Celsius here in Edmonton....

So I got Desmume to play Phantom Hourglass. All is fine and dandy, the emulator plays REALLY fine (I didn't get the lag on the wind boss) and all, but...

One problem I found with playing Phantom Hourglass on Desmume is when it asks you to "press the sacred crest on the chart" or something.

Apparently, you're supposed to close your DS, but is there any function implemented to do that on Desmume? If not, could you guys implement it in the next version?

I'd be glad if someone replied to this via e-mail...

The default for that is the backspace  key...

Hello .. How do I set supposed to close your DS in desmume 0.95 versio  Thanks..^_^

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

didn't remember it was in the FAQ, sorry. will pay more attention next time.

besides, the FAQ mentions BACKSPACE as the default key, while it actually Disabled by default (since at least 0.9.4 and including the svn).
so either update the FAQ or change default in desmume, or both.

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

I got past the candles with the real mic, and got the 2nd sea chart. I have to blow the dust off, and the mic does work, but after 30 minutes of shaking the microphone, screaming into it, hitting it against a wall, etc., I only managed to blow off just a teensy bit of dust, and the island that I'm supposed to go to is still completely covered. I really don't want to spend the next month hitting a mic just to play PH, so could someone please help me? Thanks in advance.

Re: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

You need to close the lid on the DS to get past that part. Find the close lid hotkey in the hotkey menu.
