Pokemon Soul silver restarts after beating Lance

Hi,

As stated, I got some nostalgia and downloaded Soul silver, but the problem is that Pokemon soul silver restarts the entire game (new save) when beating the pokemon league, I wanna continue and do the post-game. Someone else have something similar happen? Solution?

you never saved in-game? you only used savestates?

In-game, you never saved? Did you just utilise savestates?
