ARm9 Undefined Instruction Exception

I'm trying to import a save from my DS cartridge to play on DeSmuME. I exported the save using TWL on the 3DS via Homebrew. I imported the save onto my computer and into DeSmuME. The game itself ran and loaded the home screen and I got to the point where I can select one of my two save files to load. The game displays the preliminary save information (character name, in-game date), but I can't actually load either file. When I try, both save files give me an error message: "ARm9 Undefined Instruction Exception." I tried searching for this error and couldn't find anything.

The full error is:
ARm9 Undefined Instruction Exception.
ARM9 Program Counter: 0x01FF8050
ARM9 Instruction: 0xEC000002
ARM9: 0x01FF8048

The game is Harvest Moon DS (the final release version, not the glitchy one) and I'm running DeSmuME on a Mac

Here is a screenshot of the error: https://imgur.com/a/HIXo77A

Is there a reason this is happening and any way around it so that I can load the game?

Re: ARm9 Undefined Instruction Exception

It's probably happening because the save was exported incorrectly. Post the save file you managed to export.

Here is the save file directly from the SD card: https://drive.google.com/file/d/129TL78 … sp=sharing
Here is the copy of it that I imported into DeSmuMe: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-8D2BU … sp=sharing

Re: ARm9 Undefined Instruction Exception

I get your problem when I import your save into the glitchy version. When I import it into the final version (rev 1, #1395) it works just fine. So I feel sure you you're just mixed up.

Make sure it imports as flash 2mbit. The game has a propensity to get detected as a smaller save size until you play enough of the game. You can just pick "manual FLASH 2mbit" to make sure this happens.

Re: ARm9 Undefined Instruction Exception

You're totally right, my DS cartridge was version 1.1 but I didn't check to make sure the rom was the same version, I just assumed the current online roms would have been updated. I downloaded a new rom and made sure it's rev 1, #1395 and was able to load my saves right away.

Thank you so much for your help!
