How will Desmume hold up in the future?

Let's start by saying that i'm a big fan of old ds games, and Desmume has given me a opportunity to always be able to play them (i hope). My concern is only really how and if desmume (if its not being updated) will be compatible will future windows updates? I would be very sad if i one day, suddenly the emulator will no longer work. As you may have guessed, i'm not a very techy person, so feel free to laugh if my question is stupid.

Re: How will Desmume hold up in the future?

if a windows update breaks it, someone will fix it, if a subsequent windows update doesn't un-break it first.
