Question about save state after using Pokegen.

Hi.
I was playing desmume for Pokemon Platinum, and so wanting to evolve my scyther, I downloaded pokegen. After selecting the save file and converting it to scizor, I pressed, file, then save file. Right after, I opened desmume, then pressed the save file, and a new game appeared. Why did this happen? Can I undo it? I looked up online and couldn't find any answers, except for me to go to desmume, press file, then import/export, but that button is unclickable (It's in gray letters, so nothing happens when I press it)

Re: Question about save state after using Pokegen.

You used pokegen to modify a save file? Unless you made a backup of the save file, pokegen has wrecked it. Next time, make backups of documents you have invested a lot of time in. As for why pokegen wrecked it, it's most likely user error (wrong options or wrong rom for the options you picked) and you will have to ask a pokegen forum for help with how to use it.

Re: Question about save state after using Pokegen.

So there is no way to recover the file?

Re: Question about save state after using Pokegen.

No, you corrupted your files without making backup. There's no recovery from that in desmume or any other software.
