Using external controller with Background Input

Hello all, I can get my xbox one controller to work fine when the window is selected, and keyboard inputs work fine when Background Input is selected, but I can't get the xbox controller to work with background input. Does anyone know of a workaround?

Thanks

Re: Using external controller with Background Input

it's most likely a bug/shortcoming/limitation in whatever software youve used to make the xbox one controller work with directinput in the first place. it may be scoped to work with different profiles depending on the active window, or automatically change its behaviour based on the active window

Re: Using external controller with Background Input

I'm on windows 10 and it recognises the xbox one controller out of the box plug & play

Re: Using external controller with Background Input

Then my best guess is windows is faking directinput support for the xbox one device but only for the active window, while the actual driver does not support directinput properly. Youll need to research windows 10 faked directinput support, or find a 3rd party input mapper / gamepad driver
