3D issues with Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals.

During the excavation mini game, the bottom screen will turn gray when either the microphone is used or the Mineral\Fossil is damaged.

Emulator version is 0.9.11 x86 and OS is Windows 7 64bit.

Here is a screenshot before this happens:

And here is a screenshot after I have used the microphone:

I tried messing with the 3D settings, but no avail.

Any idea what to do?

try it on a recent build; try changing between 3d renderers opengl and softrasterizer.
how hard is it to get to this minigame?

Re: 3D issues with Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals.

This minigame is activated every time you try to excavate something, which is done often in the game.

Trying with latest build (copied the files in the folder into a backup folder of the latest version of the emulator) did not solve it.

I can't test this without you providing a .dsv file. The game's too boring and it takes too long to find an excavation minigame.

Here is the DSV, you can go to the traning room at Kolin for easy access to the excavation mini game:

Re: 3D issues with Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals.

bug is caused by use of large 0x7FFFFFFF translation values being used to move things offscreen; this was causing an overflow to negative which would transform a tiny poly in the corner of the universe to a large poly with one vert in the opposite corner of the universe, thus spanning the universe diagonally and cutting across the screen. I believe what you were seeing is a dust speck zoomed in thousands of times. Fixed in r5440

Re: 3D issues with Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals.

I have to admit, that bug description is quite funny. Also, do I apply new builds by replacing the files in my Desmume folder with those in build's files?
